Mail for developers and CTOs

The Nylas alternative that speaks the Nylas v3 format

Change the API host, the client ID and the secret; your code stays as it is.

Free tier on every product. No card.

The same request, a different host
curl -X POST https://api.syncyak.com/v3/grants/$GRANT_ID/messages/send \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SYNCYAK_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"to":[{"email":"[email protected]"}],
       "subject":"Saturday showing",
       "body":"<p>See you at 10.</p>"}'

Most teams looking for a Nylas alternative have a working Nylas v3 integration and want a lower bill without a rewrite. SyncYak Mail is wire-compatible with the parts of Nylas v3 most apps use: grants, messages, drafts, send, the hosted auth flow and webhooks with the same event names and signature header.

An existing integration switches by changing three values: the API host, the client ID and the secret.

How it works

Migrate from Nylas in three steps

  1. Create the application

Add your Google and Microsoft OAuth credentials to a SyncYak Mail application and register its callback URI with each provider.

  2. Change three values

Point your code at SyncYak’s API host with the new client ID and secret.

  3. Reconnect users

Users connect through the hosted page once; webhooks start arriving with the same event names.

Nylas v3 compatible endpoints and webhooks

GET and DELETE /v3/grants, messages, drafts, POST /v3/grants/{id}/messages/send, POST /v3/connect/token and the /v3/connect/auth flow. Webhooks use message.created, thread.replied, message.bounce_detected and the tracking events, signed in X-Nylas-Signature.

  • Same request and response shapes for these endpoints
  • Same webhook topics and challenge
  • Anything else under /v3 answers clearly that it is not supported

Cheaper than Nylas at the tiers most teams buy

As published in October 2026, Nylas charged $15 a month for 5 connected accounts and $2 for each additional one, so 10 mailboxes were $25 and 50 were $105. SyncYak Mail’s prices for the same counts are below from our catalog. Check both pricing pages for current figures.

What you get with Mail

Mail is a mailbox API that speaks the Nylas v3 format. You register your own Google, Microsoft and Yahoo OAuth apps once, send people to SyncYak’s hosted connect page, and get a grant per connected mailbox. IMAP and SMTP with an app password cover every other provider.

Free connects 3 mailboxes and sends 1,000 messages a month. Hobby is $12 a month for 10 mailboxes with open and click tracking; Pro is $49 for 50; Business is $199 for 250.

  • Hosted connect page with provider detection, PKCE and single-use state
  • Webhooks for message.created, replies, bounces, opens and clicks, signed with HMAC-SHA256
  • POST /v3/grants/{grant_id}/messages/send sends from the user’s own address
  • An existing Nylas v3 integration switches by changing the API host, client ID and secret

Frequently asked questions

Something else? Write to [email protected] and a person answers.

Does SyncYak support calendars?

No. Mail covers email: grants, messages, drafts, send and webhooks.

Do users have to reconnect?

Yes, once, because the grants live with a different provider of the API.

Is SyncYak affiliated with Nylas?

No. Nylas is a trademark of its owner; we implement a compatible format.

Is there a free plan for Mail?

Yes. Mail has a free tier with no card and no end date: 3 mailboxes, inbound webhooks, your own google and microsoft apps. Paid tiers start at $12 a month, and you can move up or down at any time.

Can I use the other SyncYak products on the same account?

Yes. Email parsing, the mailbox API, CRM sync, error tracking and tunnels share one login, one team, one API key system and one bill. Each product has its own tier, so you only pay more for the one that grows.
